FAB FASHION CONTEST—
Type and purpose of the competition-
My competition is a
fashion contest. Round 1 will consist of sketching out a design fitting the
criteria of a random person chosen before the contest. Just by looking at the
sketches, the make shift client equivalent will say if they would wear it or
not. If not, the designer is automatically eliminated. If all of the clients
like the designs, the judges will step in and select 4 people out of the 10 to
leave the fashion challenge. In round 2 the designers will have to work with
the large selection of clothing we have to make an outfit… the catch? They have
to use their sewing machines to customize at least one of the pieces that they
have chosen. 3 of the weakest competitors, chosen by the judges, will be
removed from the competition. The 3rd and final round is when they
will have to do it all… they get a client, much like in the first round, but
this time they have to make a sketch of the outfit (though they can change
things a little throughout the process of making), style the outfits accessories
(bag, shoes, belt, etc.) and then make a 2-3 piece outfit. A model will then
walk the runway and the judges will choose (without knowing whose is who’s to
prevent favoritism) the outfit they like the most. The person who has the
favored outfit will win the prize.
Target audience-
The
target audience would be about fourteen through twenty five year olds, but
really because fashion is such a vast interest through out all the age groups,
I believe that people of all ages would apply. The target audience is only
fourteen through twenty five because I feel that that is when a greater
interest in fashion occurs. As for gender I believe that this contest is for
all genders, but should be slightly pushed toward the female gender. The people
who join this competition should have an interest for fashion and drawing. There will be ten people in the live
competition, but before hand those of who wish to enter may by sending in a
sketch of their favorite clothing design, a picture of their favorite piece of
clothing or accessory in their closet, and a picture of their favorite thing
that they have sown. The three judges will look through all the entries to pick
the individuals who they believe to be the most qualified.
Products-
My trophy
will be about one and a half feet tall. The base of the trophy will be made of
black marble. On the marble will be the competition logo and say that they are
the winner. On top will be a golden
goblet with engraved flowers. Inside the goblet there will be a pyramid of
flowers. (Preferably hydrangeas, peonies, and roses). The clothing item will be
a blue acid wash shirt. The logo will be in the middle of the chest. The logo
is two F’s, one being upside down with on the top parts of the F sat “Fab” and
“Fashion”. The logo will be blue and green with gold words. The gift bags will
be a beige or white light color. For my
digital advert, the first page will be the logo covering the entire page as a
somewhat water mark. This will have all of the competitions info over the top.
For the second page there will be images of the trophy, T-shirt, and gift bag
with a collage like look. On this page there will also be a description of each
of the products. On the third page there will be a sneak peek of the judges
favorites.

will draw most of what I use. To do this I will use a paper and a pencil.
